About Iboga Treatment Center
Since 2018, Iboga Treatment Center has run medically supervised ibogaine programs in the mountains of Ensenada, Mexico. We were founded to give people something many ibogaine clinics don’t: enough time to heal, with doctors, counselors and aftercare built around them.

OUR STORY
Built for Longer Ibogaine Programs
Iboga Treatment Center opened in 2018 with a simple idea: ibogaine works best when people have time. Some clinics fly guests in for a few days, give the dose and send them home. We built our programs around the weeks before and after treatment too, because that’s where lasting change takes hold.
Over the years we’ve found the right combination of plant medicine and aftercare to give people a real chance at sustainable recovery. Many guests come to break free of addiction or to find relief from depression, anxiety or PTSD, and discover the deeper work is about an awakening: a new way of seeing their life. People Who Understand the Journey
Our team is experienced, compassionate and understanding. Many of our staff have been through ibogaine treatment themselves and have dedicated their lives to helping others heal. They know what you’re facing because they’ve faced it too.
Your care is led by three medical doctors on staff, with multiple doctors present during every ibogaine treatment and medical staff on site 24/7. Licensed counselors guide your integration, and our holistic team offers breathwork, massage and other restorative practices.
Safety First
Medical Safety Comes First
Ibogaine is powerful, and it carries real risk. The main one is cardiac, and it’s the reason a clinic’s screening should matter to you more than anything else on its website. Nobody is treated here without a full cardiac workup, bloodwork and a medication review first. If those results tell us ibogaine isn’t safe for you, we say so and we don’t proceed. We have turned people away. We would rather lose a booking than gamble with someone’s life.
Each ibogaine session is attended by several doctors, with magnesium given alongside and continuous monitoring. Our medical staff are on site day and night throughout your stay, and our doctor manages any benzodiazepines individually.
Safety starts the day you arrive. We check every guest’s luggage and belongings at check-in and collect all medications, so our medical team knows exactly what you’re taking and nothing unexpected comes into the center.

A Peaceful Place to Heal in Ensenada
Our center sits in the mountains of Ensenada, Baja California, on vineyard grounds about two hours south of San Diego. Guests stay in villa bungalows with private rooms and shared living spaces, with a saltwater pool, gardens and wide-open views of the valley.
Days are calm and unhurried, with time to rest, swim, walk the grounds and reflect. Later in your stay, when you’re ready, outings can include the beach, hot springs, and zipline and suspension bridge tours.

Pickup in San Diego
Fly into San Diego International Airport. From there, our team brings you to Ensenada and takes care of the border crossing.
Check-in
We check your luggage and belongings, collect your medications for the medical team, complete your admissions forms and show you to your room.
Settling in
You get a tour of the center and an orientation, so you feel comfortable and know what to expect before treatment begins.

Where is Iboga Treatment Center located?
You’ll find us in Ensenada, Baja California, around two hours south of San Diego by road. Take a flight to San Diego International Airport, and we’ll drive you the rest of the way, border crossing included. Admissions will walk you through the trip and what to pack. Because ibogaine is federally Schedule I in the US, it can’t be offered legally there, and our clinic is in Mexico for that reason.
How long has Iboga Treatment Center been open?
We opened in 2018 and have treated more than 500 guests since then.
Who will take care of me?

What programs do you offer?
Programs run two, three or four weeks, and custom extended stays are available; guests who arrive clean may qualify for a 7-day program, decided case by case. Four weeks is the stay we recommend most for daily or long-term substance use. See our ibogaine treatment programs.
