Iboga Treatment Center was founded to run longer ibogaine programs for addiction, because time is one of the most important parts of healing. We offer two-, three- and four-week residential programs and custom extended stays, with three medical doctors on staff and medical staff on site 24/7.

Unlike a short ibogaine retreat, our programs give you enough time to heal. A longer stay lets your body settle after detox, gives our doctors more time to see how you respond, and leaves room to work through what comes up before you go home.
Ibogaine can ease withdrawal and quiet cravings for many people, but the weeks after treatment are when new habits take hold. That’s why we recommend more than a week for most people, and four weeks for daily or long-term substance use.

Case by case
A short stay for select guests who arrive already clean, approved case by case after medical screening. It includes screening, ibogaine treatment with doctors present and integration support. It isn’t designed for anyone who needs detox first.
2-Week Program
Detox and stabilization
Time for medically supervised detox when it’s needed, a longer stabilization period, and additional iboga support when it’s clinically appropriate.

Deeper integration
Everything in the two-week program, plus extended integration therapy and continued clinical observation while you rest and rebuild.

Our most recommended stay for daily or long-term substance use. It allows comprehensive detox and preparation before ibogaine, then extended residential recovery support and integration before you go home.

Every stay is planned around you. Before you arrive, our medical team reviews your health history and medications, and admissions helps you plan your trip. Transport is arranged for you from San Diego International Airport, or now and then from Tijuana.

How Our Ibogaine Programs Work
- Apply and screen. Fill out a short application, talk with admissions and complete a medical review with an EKG and bloodwork.
- Travel to Ensenada. Fly into San Diego and our team drives you to the center, handling the border crossing along the way.
- Stabilize. Settle in and, when needed, complete detox or medication changes under a doctor’s care.
- Ibogaine treatment. Multiple doctors are present, magnesium is given alongside ibogaine, and you’re monitored continuously.
- Rest and integrate. Recover, sleep, eat well and work through what came up with integration counseling.
- Plan for home. Leave with an aftercare plan built around your life.

Iboga Treatment Center has three medical doctors on staff, and multiple doctors are present during every ibogaine treatment. However long you stay, medical staff are on site around the clock.
Before treatment, every guest has a medical review with an EKG and bloodwork. During treatment, magnesium is given alongside ibogaine and you’re monitored continuously. Some medications need planning first: benzodiazepines are handled case by case under a doctor’s care, and antidepressants are usually tapered with help from your prescriber.

Life at the Center
Every program is fully residential, in a private, peaceful setting in the mountains of Ensenada, about two hours south of San Diego. Our team picks you up in San Diego, and you’ll have a comfortable room, nutritious meals and quiet space to rest between sessions.
Your days are built around recovery, with one-on-one integration counseling, group support, breathwork and massage. Medical staff are close by day and night, so you can focus on healing.

Why do you recommend longer stays?
Iboga Treatment Center was founded to run longer programs for addiction. Detox, treatment and recovery all take time, and the weeks after ibogaine are when new habits take hold. A longer stay means more medical observation, more integration support and a steadier transition home.
Can I do a 7-day ibogaine program?
Sometimes. The 7-day program is for select guests who come in clean and pass medical screening, and it’s decided case by case. It isn’t designed for anyone who needs detox first. If you’re using daily, a longer program is usually the better fit.
Is this an ibogaine retreat?
Not in the usual sense. Many retreats are only a few days long. Our programs are medically supervised residential treatment, with doctors present during treatment, medical staff on site 24/7 and integration support before you go home.

Is ibogaine treatment safe?
Ibogaine carries real medical risks, especially for the heart, which is why screening and supervision matter. Every guest has a medical review with an EKG and bloodwork before treatment. During treatment, several doctors are present, you receive magnesium along with ibogaine, and there’s always medical staff nearby. If ibogaine isn’t safe for you, we’ll tell you.
Can I keep taking my medications?
Tell us about every medication and supplement you take. Some need to be tapered before ibogaine. Benzodiazepines are handled case by case under a doctor’s care, and antidepressants are usually tapered with help from your prescriber. Never stop a medication on your own.
How much does an ibogaine program cost?

How do I reach the clinic?
Our location is Ensenada, Baja California, a two-hour drive south of San Diego. Fly to San Diego International Airport; from there our team drives you through the border crossing to the clinic. Admissions helps you plan travel and tells you what to pack. Under US law ibogaine is Schedule I and can’t be legally provided, so our programs run in Mexico.
Can I stay longer than four weeks?
Yes. We offer custom extended stays for people who need more time. Extended aftercare adds supervised housing, continued therapy and a daily structure once treatment ends. Admissions can help you plan a longer stay.
