Ibogaine is a powerful indole alkaloid extracted from the root of Tabernanthe iboga, a Western African shrub. Historically, it has been used in healing ceremonies and initiation rituals in the Bwiti practices in West Africa. In the last 40 years, the addiction-interruption properties have become more well-known thanks primarily to Howard Lotsof, who at 19 years of age took ibogaine and stopped using heroin the next day. Howard Lotsof advocated for research, developed patents and manufacturing, and along with many other noted pioneers have helped change thousands of lives.
Ibogaine is mostly known for treating opiate addiction because withdrawals are reduced or eliminated. This medicine is also a great opening tool for treatment of other chemical dependencies including methamphetamine, cocaine, alcohol addiction, as well as eating disorders and other addictive behaviors.
The relief from cravings that Ibogaine facilitates makes the transition back to a healthy life much easier.
It is important to understand that although Ibogaine’s extraordinary medicinal powers are extremely effective at eliminating the majority of withdrawal symptoms and cravings, it is not a cure for addiction. Although it reboots an individual’s body and resets their brain’s neurotransmitters back to their pre-addictive state it will take hard work and dedication to maintain recovery. Ibogaine detox treatment will give an individual the freedom from drug dependency and open an amazing “window of opportunity” to focus on their aftercare to help ensure successful, long-term recovery. By inducing a dreamlike, but conscious state, Ibogaine reaches deep into one’s subconscious, unlocking memories and events that can provide introspective insight to help heal one’s self and make peace with their past.
